On Karakuwa peninsula I had a wonderful time at Rias hostel, enjoying the company of two beautiful people.

First I met the dog, who is called Sakura ("cherry blossom") because she was born in spring. I'm sure she would remember me if I would return.

This great man is Mikami. He was born in the year of the rabbit. Rabbits tend to talk a lot, not all of which might be necessarily true. As a young boy he loved the fairy tales of the Grimm brothers, like the Town Musicians of Bremen. That's why you see a rabbit on top of a swordfish below the hostel sign. The rabbit of course is him.

This is Yukari. She was born in the year of the rooster. Roosters tend to forget a lot. Still she knows a lot about Karakuwa, Japan in general, and the world. She showed me around on the peninsula, and I learned a lot from her.

I was born in the year of the snake. I wonder what snakes are known for.
